Pro Scores film scoring software/music ?

Anybody tried Andrew Kramer's Pro Scores music/software?

I am hesitant. There is really only one short demo, epic type sound, of this at his site. I have ACID Pro and about 20 CDs of royalty free music tracks for ACID, including cinematic scoring tracks, etc. I can not see what Andrew's product would offer beyond what I have. At least with Sony ACID music CDs one can listen to previews of tracks to get an idea what you are paying for. I wish Andrew would put up a few dozen previews of the track music you get for the money. But maybe it is good, just hard to judge by the limited demo on his site.

That was my impression from the one single score available as a demo on the site; suitable more for action movies, etc. I did email videocopilot.net to ask if they could put up for listening more samples/previews, like Sony does on their ACID CDs site (I have quite a few ACID content CDs, different genres including film music).

I've not listened in great depth, but the ProScores I did listen to were all more of an epic-type of thing.

Im pretty sure ProScores is not software but is a sample library of cinematic style loops broken into layers. A friend of mine owns it and i wasnt so impressed. A moderately skilled composer would be more inclined to create what is supplied. The only use I personally found within the purchase was the drum and percussion samples. But for that price you can get a much more vast collection of percussion + drums

What I've heard is that most major composers uses Logic or Pro tools in their setup. And use Gigastudio for their sampling software. Even some use Vegas, since afterall it was originally a sequencer program before it added video.

where did you get your cinematic scoring tracks from acid at? i havent seen any cinematic scoring loops from them (granted i havent had to really look until tonight)

i have the andrew kramer pro scores music software and if i can hear what you're comparing it to i can tell you in a minute if it's better or not. i have a feeling you may already have tons of stuff that's already on the kramer dvd. i do like how he put some full tracks together and then seperated the tracks so you can just use percussion, voices or whatever form a particular song. i like it, but i'm scoring an action thriller so a lot of the sounds are what i need. it's got some other stuff up there too that's probably good to have depending on how vast your music library already is. if you've got tons of music already this will probably not be that big of an advantage.

Sorry for bringing back an older thread, but I just bought this yesterday.

To be honest, it isn't as great as I expected but it is still good. It includes about 60 or so pre made scores, and then a number of various sound elements. I'm not quite sure what I was expecting, but I was hoping for MORE sound elements (e.g. Piano, Guitar....SOMETHING MORE). The sound elements included are, for the most part, strings, drums, and choir.

Overall, it's a good package for someone that just wants some pre made scores, with the basic ability to edit them. However, for someone looking for something more advanced, I wouldn't recommend the product.

The other programs mentioned here are far more expensive than ProScores. And I couldn't find GigaStudio on Tascam's web site. Are they even still making GigaStudio?

For all that Andrew Kramer does on his site with the free tutorials, I figure buying one or two of his products would be a nice way to support his efforts.

I'm planning on buying ProScores and Designer Sound FX

David - Even though you wanted more, do you feel what you got was worth your $95 bucks?
