Tell me how to NOT stain the walls with fake blood...

I made some great fake blood before with white corn syrup, red food coloring and Chinese Soy sauce. If I spray some on the linoleum floor and white walls, I would imagine it would stain both? Any ways around this?

Well you should test on a small portion. Linoleum, I would think would be fine.

We did a shoot last year, where we splattered not only blood but an abundance of pork fat as fake brains all over the walls. Even after sitting there for an hour or so, you'd be shocked at how much we scrubbed off with household cleaners. The walls looked pretty damned good.

But that blood was from a pro, so it might have been made that way.

Test on a small section that no one can see...

I've used gallons of homemade fake blood in tubs and sinks with no ill effect.

Did you use any out of the ordinary ingredients? Did you use basic food coloring? It's just the food coloring that I am worried about. I will give it a test though.

Id say buy the real stuff. Its not cheap, but doesnt stain and looks good. Usually make up / fx has some.

I remember someone (unfortunately, can't remember who) making their fake blood by mixing chocolate and strawberry syrup, mixing until the desired color was achieved. Had the added advantage of not being too gross when in the actor's mouth, plus totally safe if ingested.

I would think this would clean up easily from any surface.
