Canon user thread - post your pictures here

...and the girls come back! Great job Philip...especially on the second shot. I like the first shot composition wise, but the shadow on the first girl's face seems a little too harsh and noisy. It might be my monitor, but that's what it looks like on my end.

As for the second shot - crisp, well composed and colors are fantastic as per usual.

Haha, yeah those are still from this one series I did last year. You are right about the shadows in the pic with the two girls. It´s actually a kinda experimental shot, something different than usual and the shadow on her face was actually completely black.. I kinda like it though.

Thanks for commenting. :) And hopefully you bring some girls back as well. :D

Hey, pt, those pics are great! I can't really stand behind my comments 100% because I don't have a perfectly calibrated monitor but it seems to me that your pic of the two girls seems to be heavy on the dark in the low light areas. Otherwise its a great pic...looks like an advertisement for a new show of a fall line up..."The Detectives" on FOX....

Here is my absolute first panorama...I used Canon Stitch. I can't take full credit because the program did an awesome job of making the stitch invisible. However...the rest of the critiques...color, sharpness, contrast, comp, etc. is up to you....

very nice pano, love the clouds and mountains, too bad it is so crooked but it still looks great, can u post it a big bigger though, it is a tad small

Thanks Rick and yes, the pic is heavy on the dark. Somehow that´s why I like it.^^

We need a bigger version of that panorama. :)

Here's a couple I shot today on a walk with a friend...

Nothing special, just out for a walk. It's getting warmer, so expect more shots soon!

Macaholic, it´s the Rebel XTi aka 400D with the standard 18-55. Quite boring actually.^^

Kegan, what is it that she´s holding in her hands? Looks big.

Phillip, heh...it's a Nikon D200 w/ 18-200mm lens I believe. She might have been playing around with an 85mm tilt/shift, but it looks kind of long for that.

I haven't taken a photo of this one yet...she's new and that's actually the only shot I liked out of the ones I posted. Not a very successful shoot, but enjoyable nonetheless.

EDIT: I shot my stuff with an XTi (400D) and 28-135mm IS lens.

thats funny you should say that (too bad it is so crooked) because I really suck at perspective. I always have.

Here is a bigger version...(okay....I am not sure why this is looking so soft....I needed to tweak it...it definitely is NOT this soft...) Again...I have NO idea why this is so soft....

Not sure what you mean by perspective but if you are worried about the stitch/panorama job it looks perfect. It seems that your camera has the screw aligned with the sensor, the water line looks straight as could be. What I am saying it could use is a little counter clockwise rotation, but unfortunately you would have to crop it a lot so I'd try it but probably leave it as it is.

Yea it looks desaturated and soft, please try to upload it again. Did you just make the image size bigger from the little one? If so that may be the issue. Try going back to the big one and saving it again from that one.

I really love those clouds and the sunshine and shadows they cast on the far mountains... really cool pano. Love the colors too, hope you can re-upload soon.

I keep trying different things...when I look at the full size of the file after I've uploaded it onto a site, it looks pretty sharp. However, when I bring it in here, it gets very soft again. I am very perplexed by this.

I think I know what you mean by the counter-clockwise thing...You are suggesting I get more of the ocean...left of the frame? If thats what you mean, I actually have a FULL pano...almost a complete circle...but it was just too much information for photostitch to handle. Besides, I just wanted to throw these 4 or 5 pics in there to see how it'd come out. I am VERY impressed with how seemless the stitch is...with absolutely no work on my part. I will keep working on the image quality...

No not at all, I actually think your composition is perfect as is, I wouldn't get more of the ocean in there.

What I mean is that if you rotated the whole thing you have here a couple of degrees or so counter clockwise and still wanted a rectangle you would have to cut the corners in a bit, and only show a rectangle within the picture.

Here, I hope you don't mind but I took the liberty to illustrate:

Heh, yes - I agree! The lighting is nice how it hits her, but its nothing technical that makes this photo appealing...it's the model that compliments the whole image in my opinion.
