Well, since the originals sucked majorly, I'd say yes...And give Rhona Mitra her shot, since she was the model for the character anyway--

Eh, I could care less about Tomb Raider. Neither one with Jolie was very good at all. I want a good Indiana Jones sequel, not the half-assed one we got with Crystal Skull.

If they do pick Rhona Mitra then I say good for her. She was great in Doomsday (yes I liked Doomsday, as silly as it was). I haven't seen this new Underworld sequel, but from her performance in Doomsday I think she could carry a bigger action film.

As for video game movie adaptations, I'd much rather see the fabled Halo adaptation that Peter Jackson is supposedly producing than this. If done right it could be amazing. I doubt it will happen though. Seems like the optimal time for it has passed.
 
The second one (Cradle of Life?) was actually a pretty decent movie, but it totally wasn't enough to make for the big crapburger that was the first one. :D That thing had plot holes big enough to drive an entire 1970's convoy of Mack trucks through...

I don't really remember the first one that much at all. I saw the second one, which from my vague memories I agree was better overall than number one.

I don't know. I like adventure films and am a big fan of the original Indiana Jones trilogy. However, after more recent action films like the Bourne series, I find it hard to get excited about these over the top films. I don't see this being done in a believable way either. Its a big live action cartoon. Of course, every director in Hollywood says , "I'm gonna make this realistic and gritty," when a new adaptation gets announced.
 
they need to get this movie right. I'm a big fan. no more crap. let's see some serious work done with game-based movies!
 
Just read that there is a possibility of changing the character around and leaving the whole english stuff behind. What's the fun in that? she's just going to turn out to be some action hero-girl with no substance!
 
I've just never been a Tomb Raider fan. I was always partial to Resident Evil games around that same time.

Megan Fox is hot, I won't debate that with anyone. I've got an idea for the writer... how about a scene where Lara Croft's tank top gets caught on a tree branch, tearing it off and she slips through it?

Hey, with the economy tanking the studios might need to try really hard to get the butts in the seats, especially since most studio films are targeted towards 18-25 year old dudes anyways.
