Want to rent 35mm adapter in NYC

Hi everyone,

I apologize if I'm posting this in the wrong section. I'm going to be shooting a spec commercial on my HVX200A in the next couple of weeks in New York City, and we hope to rent an adapter for the shoot (something on the level of the Letus Extreme/Elite, Brevis with CFXL element, or SGPro). It will be an outdoor shoot and will probably last two days.

We have a set of lenses (Canon FD, I believe), but we do not really know where to find an adapter to rent. If anyone here has any suggestions in terms of someone to rent from, please let me know. If you live in the New York area and have an adapter for rent, give me your info so I can contact you and find out what your rates are.

Thanks so much.

Well there is this place called duall camera check the web page and they rent the P&S mini adapter. It probable they best on the market, because it actually used real ground glass that vibrates unlike the cheaper consumer ones like the letus, brevis or m2 which don't use glass, but still vibrate or spin. Their packages you can customize and you have the choice of getting cook or zeiss lens which are on average T1.3 which is always nice hope your shoot works out

Thanks for the suggestion, but I believe the P&S is a bit out of our price range. We'll take a look, though.

Try Abel Cinetch, one of the sponsors here. They rent everything and are fantastic to deal with.

Robmneilson, I don't know if we have exact dates set up yet, but I'll check with the director and let you know.

Bobonli, thanks for the advice. I've rented from Abel before, but I didn't know they had the lower-cost adapters for rent there. On the website I only see the Kinomatik and the P+S Technik, and those are definitely not in our price range (especially considering that we'd have to rent cine lenses as well).

do a search for kwan on the forums, I rented a brevis a couple months ago from him here in NY. He'll help you out.

Thanks, dlang, I'll look for him.

Rob, our lenses are actually all Canons, so it looks like we won't be able to use your adapter. Thanks for responding, though.
