Can a Moderator suggest any advise?

I'm trying to attach a pdf file of my first ever script - I'm hoping to get some feedback from people here,..but at the moment I am having trouble even uploading the bloody thing.

I've been told that I should be able to attach a file from within the 'Additional Options 'section in the next box section below from where i am typing this now.

I have been shown a screen grab that looks very different from my version.

Here in my 'Additional Options' box all I have is the following:

Miscellaneous Options - (automatically parse links in text)
--and a box for ''Disable smilies in text'
Then a choice of Thread Subscription...

And then finally 'Post a Poll'...

Can any moderator explain where I can find the section where I will be able to attach a file from my computer - hopefully as a pdf file..?

Try replying to this post and clicking Go Advanced. You should see the file attachment options.

If you have MOD-Favor :) that is. Checking out this thread I started looking around on mine. In the bottom left hand of the site is a box labeled "Posting Rules". In my box it says You may not post attachments. I imagine Robstene has the same setting.
 
Thanks again everyone...I think Cryogenic has hit the nail on the head with this one..
In the bottom left of my screen is 'Posting Rules' and I have 'YOU MAY NOT POST ATTACHMENTS'......WHY???!!!!

Am I able to change this setting?

Why am I not allowed personally? And yet others are..??

Can anyone shed light on this...

(i am not a moderator but...)
What operating system do you use (WinXP? Vista? Linux? MacOSX? other?)
What browser to you use?
What version of the browser do you have?
I am thinking it could be an issue between your PC/software setup and the dvxuser software used for this message discussion board.

i have the same issue. i was trying to attach a .pdf file during the last script-fest, and couldn't find the little paper clip (attach) icon anywhere. now i see that it says i may not attach. hmmm.
 
I think it might be a browser issue, browser and version. From what I can see this forum is powered by vBulletin 3.7.2 software on the server, and when I google 'vbulletin can not attach file' it looks like it is browser type and version related. Maybe try downloading Firefox and see how that goes with file attachments? I am curious what browser, browser version, and operating system (and version) you guys are using who are unable to attach files to posts here.

I'm on Firefox 3.0.5 and have this issue.

firefox 3.0.5; windows xp professional version 2002 service pack 2.

i think i tried it in IE as well with no luck.
 
Again, I am not a moderator, but I am a bit of a geek... so on that note, this might help (or not)

I know I have service pack 3 on my home PC with WinXP Professional. I use Vista on my laptop. I can post attachments with either. Maybe you need SP3 (service pack 3) on your WinXP system. Maybe you need to default you internet security settings, they could be too high or something.
