My Bloody Valentine 3D

Robbie Comeau

Como's back. back again
Looks good.

One of Tarantino's favourite slasher flicks as stated in some article/interview.

I'm looking forward to it. Out today!

Yeah, so instead of actually watching one of Tarantino's favorite slasher flicks, let's watch a crappy remake!

Hey, don't judge it just cause it's a remake. The original is one of my favorite 80's slasher flicks, but I'm going to see the remake tonight cause not all remakes are bad.

I'm not trying to cause a fight or anything, I'm just saying wait till you or someone you trust sees it.

I'm tempted to see this. I love the original (because I'm a slasher movie junkie), but I'm always hesitant when it comes to remakes. The Thing is, of course, the best remake I've ever seen, though.

I just got home from the theater, and let me say this, MBV 3D is probably one of the best 80's horror remakes I've ever seen! I could go on and on, but I suggest you go read Harry's review on AICN. It pretty much mimics my thoughts on the movie...

I just saw it a few days ago, and i think that as a slasher film, it held up pretty nicely. But let's face it, the real reason I (and probably most of you) went to see it was because of the 3D.

There were a few parts where the 3D worked very well (Shotgun, hand dripping, jaw), but it got a tad bit painful after an hour or so. It definitely helped a lot of the shots with a really deep field, (those forest shots were amazing), but a lot of it seemed unnecessary, and most of the shots designed for the 3D scare tactic were CGI anyway.

I'm not saying that it wasn't a bad film, or that 3D has no future (quite the opposite), but I just think it was a good test module for the technology to be used on feature-length films one wouldn't normally imagine to show in 3D (like Slasher flicks). Not really worth $13 though.

So yea, those are my thoughts on the whole ordeal, haha.

Yeah, it's all speculation really, I'm not sure the exact figure, maybe its closer to 50/50. I do know that it was a combination of 35mm, RED, and SI-2k. :)

I saw it a few days ago. I enjoyed it. It was one of the better remakes that has been made. It was pointless, senseless, gory as hell and fun to watch. just like 80's slasher films. The acting was actually pretty good for this type of film. The 3D was simply amazing. I would recommend seeing it just for that alone.

I just got back from seeing it with the girlfriend. We loved it. It was a blast! The 3D stuff was awesome. We're also big fans of the original, and this was a cool follow up.
