Remote follow focus for £150/$300

Good to hear. Glad your really taking the initiative with this and making a quality product, it could turn out to be a great venue for you and a great addition to the independent filmmakers arsenal.

Yeah, I will be at NAB, working on another stand (doing some remote control stuff for another company)

Will have the HoFo under the desk probably so come and find me.

Cool, I'm trying to make my way out this year - let us know the booth when that info is able to be announced. Hope to see you there!

Do you have a mailing list or website that we can check at for updates?

Looking forward to seeing this product. I know it will help a lot of filmmakers.

Mars has not reserved one yet.

Just working through the finances, and getting the parts machined for the final prototype.

Il have proper photos of the actual final unit done pretty soon...

Thanks,

Pete.

Hi, Quick update.

I have had various meetings with the machine shop and I have had to revise the design of the motor slightly. Here is a picture of the new motor.

This new motor has an aluminium chassis (the part in red) and the two black caps are CNC milled from delrin, which is a very hard and durable plastic. Dont worry though, its good plastic, its very solid and helps with the noise reduction. It is also lighter than the aluminium version.

The plug will go on the angled section on the back cap of the motor.

Let me know what yout think....

Ok, one more render.

This is the new plug. It is IP rated (waterproof, will withstand 1m depth for 20mins) and it is locking. The cable is now moulded, also IP rated waterproof.

Im more or less working on this full time now. I will have two prototypes made for Broadcast live. Thats CNC cut, laser engraed, wave soldered - the whole lot, as the production version will be.

The show is 17-19th of Feb in london, come and see me :-D

Yeah well those lenses use .8mod gears anyway, which is the standard pitch with adapter follow focus's.

The Hofo is designed for SLR lenses really, this motor is not really intended for PL cine lenses. However, it wont be long until the HoFoPro motor is available. This motor is silent, has automatic calibrating lens stops etc. Its a proper pro motor, and will be backwards compatable with the existing hofo.
