maybe this has been discussed on here prior but i could not find it (i did look really!!). here is the dealy:
i am having trouble saving a comp in AE when bringing it back to FCP. the image is downsized compared to the other .mov clips in my time line in FCP? here is what i did:

made a subclip in FCP and saved it as a .mov
brought that into a comp in AE
did some titling
then exported to a .mov
brought it into FCP and found it is downsized compared to everything else in the timeline
also, when i rendered in AE, i brought the clip in FCP and there was no sound with it?

any help is appreciated,

Ryan

How are you exporting out of FCP? What are your project settings in AE and how are you rendering out of AE?

How are you exporting out of FCP? What are your project settings in AE and how are you rendering out of AE?

-i export the subclip as a .mov (using current settings and self contained movie)
-then in AE my comp settings are 23.97 fp 720x480 (these are the original footage settings)
-pre-render
-export to quicktime movie
-compressor type: DV/DvcPro-NTSC, Frame rate 24, Compressor- Best, Scan mode- Progressive, Aspect- 16:9
-sound is uncompressed and i am not getting it back in FCP.

thanks for your response to such an easy question to a lot of people on here! i am just scratching the surface with these programs.

Really? You could answer all your questions by reading the help.

yeah, i am doin that and in the meantime asking some forums to help get things straight in hopefully in a timely manner to come up with a solution. thanks for the tip though.

Well, it sounds like you're using the Export option from the File menu. You need to use the Add the Render Queue option from the Composition window. Set all your settings from there, but check the help because it's a bit more detailed than the export option.
