Removing sun glare reflection off bald heads

A friend shot the video at my daughters' joint wedding which was held outside on a very bright, sunny day. A few of the scenes show a starburst reflection off the heads of some of the bald men. Using the filters that come with Vegas Pro 8 I have been unable to remove or reduce this glare effect.

I tried the Levels, Brightness & Contrast, and Curves filters but nothing seems to do the trick. I would appreciate any suggestion you have.

Thank you.

Not going to be easy, if you can do it at all.

You're going to have use multiple tracks and cut parts of the frame out to manipulate separately. You'd want to use the bezier mask in pan/crop, or in some cases the cookie cutter FX.

Thanks for the reply.

I am not certain that I understand all of your advice, so I guess I'll have to play around with it.

You'll want to make multiple tracks and put the same clip on them, so that you have multiple copies of the clip in the same area on the timeline. Then, you can cut out the offending parts of the frame -- using the bezier mask in pan/crop, or using the cookie cutter FX -- so that you can apply FX only to those parts of the frame and not the other parts.
