OT- after effects CS4 is INTEL MAC ONLY!

earlier today i bought my update of adobes master collection CS4. during the install i get the rude surprise that after effects cs4 is NOT power mac compatible. so now i have to go out and buy an intel mac... that was a $3000 oversight i could have lived without ; )

in these days where there are likely as many power macs in use as macpros, it would be very nice if adobe put a big banner "some apps in this update REQUIRE an INTEL MAC" somewhere on the store page.

That sucks. That's good to know, though, as I run After Effects CS3 on my Power Mac.

Well the switch to Intel was somewhat of a big deal. Performance wise it really jumped. How much longer did you expect the old system to be supported? Apple themselves will only support Intel systems in Snow Leopard.

The processing power has been there for over a year now, it only makes sense for anyone making software to utilize the massive processor resources they get with Intel.

However, I noticed that the CS4 Design premium still lists a G5 as a system requirement. But the master & production suite require Intel only.

Interesting, I spoke to someone at Adobe yesterday and they told me that my G5 is compatible with CS4. I'm looking to buy just AE, maybe that's the difference?
