Help with HV20 DIY 35mm adapter

The title really says it all. I'm going to be helping a friend design and build a 35mm adapter for his Canon HV20 based loosely on a previous DIY design of mine. Does anyone who's maybe done this before have any general tips that would apply to use with this camera?
 
Good news, finished the adapter and it seems to be working wonderfully. Better results than from my previous DIY adapters. Still need to build some kind of support for it. We're going out tomorrow (Friday) to try and get some sample footage, will post results. Seems to have really good edge to edge sharpness and no vignetting issues or problems with chromatic aberration (all problems I had encountered previously).
