Purchasing a 35 millimeter adaptor doesn't really answer my question.
Then your answer is...no.
It's a 35mm lens man. It's made for 35mm film or a sensor of equivalent size.
Your DVX has a FIXED lens. it's not goin anywhere. Plus its a 1/3rd inch sensor.
50mm is somewhere near maximum TELEPHOTO on the DVX..
whereas a 50mm would be a normal lens on a 35mm cam.
