someone keeps taking photos of my house at nighttime...

the first one happened a couple of days ago. i can't remember what time it was. about 10pm-12am maybe...

the way i can tell is a bright flash of light coming through my window... not too subtle..
i looked out the window after a minute and saw nothing...

my first thought was maybe someone liked the house. my dad is an architect and has designed this house and many others in our town and people seem to like them a lot. they shot the final scene of "The Pacific" mini series here - sequel to band of brothers mini series. also they shot the entire of "where wild things are" (spike jones) across the street in one of my dads designs with my house in the background a lot.

so yeah/ then i though maybe it's google street view. but a night time?? maybe...

but just now. like 20 min ago. there was another flash through my window. it happened at 3:58AM... a bit late for any reasonable explanation... i looked out the window. again nothing.... 12 minutes later i hear a car quietly start and drive off down the street - after i've been, quite obviously, staring out my window for 5 min

why am i up and alert at 4AM? i editing my film major for school... i've had two energy drinks and i'm paranoid as hell!

all i can think of is; someone is taking photo's of peoples houses that are lit up. for some sort of energy saving/global warming thing... my room is the only room in the street that is lit up at night consistently. coz i'm up till dawn most nights editing.

wtf is going on?????!?!?!?!?!? WHY? WHO? AAARRRARARGGG!

ps. i'm in small suburb in Melbourne, Australia.

It sounds almost like someone might be casing the place. I don't know how the laws work over there, but here in the states I would at least call the cops to tell them I think someone is casing the joint.

If your house is all that you say it is, I could get it at 4 in the afternoon... but 4 in the morning? That just doesn't sound good...

Stop selling drugs and runnin' hoes, man.
lol
When my wife and I lived in Nashville, we'd often get bobarded with tourists taking our picture like we were of fame or something. I have no idea who we looked like.
Maybe it was the tie dyed car?

don't tell me someone's casing the joint!!?!?!?!!... more paranoia :undecided

i need another energy drink

I was accused of "casing someone's place" because I had my video camera in the car and we pulled over so I could change the battery. Ugh! Ridiculous. Maybe I just don't know any well organized thieves, but who would bother photographing houses in order to rob them? Wouldn't you just watch a couple houses and then break in if the timing was right? I think it IS paranoia when people think that...unless you guys know something about modern thieves that I don't.

This sounds really bad.... You should really look for someone htat is seeking you or any of your family members.... this or try to sleep a bit more, maybe this is just your imagination that is trying to make a up a plot for a new film.... Imagine, a xxxxx (insert whatever stay up 'till late job you want) is working hard every night, when a series of unexplainable thing start taking place (flashes going off, people cheering....)... we would call it the xxxxx (insert wherever you inserted the first time) syndrome.

Just to keep you entertained a bit more time.... Yesterday night I was watching star wars in my computer.... when suddenly I hear some noises outside (keep in mind this was at midnight). I say, nah just noise from the film...when.... someone starts knocking in the back door.... imagine me jumping from the chair like a crazy paranoid person.....in the end, it was just my neighbour asking for his laptop he lent my earlier......

I never said thieves were particularly bright  But... taking pictures of someone's house in the wee hours of the morning is strange at the very least. And these days who knows? I'd rather call the cops and have it turn out to be some weirdo with an appreciation of the house's design taking pictures of it in the middle of the night than come home one night and find your stuff gone.

At the very least, the motion detecting lights would be a good idea.

Wow, talk about your bad neighbors... :D

This is no joke -- I've read a few times over the past year that house break-ins are increasing in Melbourne. Sounds like a casing to me.

Owe anyone money?

Make sure you get your drug dealers, pimps and bookies paid on time. Although, there was one time american express sent a hit man after me.

You mean the neighbour that forgot to return the borrowed laptop?

hahaha... I was setting the shared wifi internet connection in his newly installed ubuntu system... And I didn't finish so he'll have to take it here again (but this time I'll make sure he gets the computer before night).

Just read on Google that house break ins in Melbourne are up 1,200% in the last 30 days.

Do you own a gun?
