I'm about to purchase a mac pro. As a lot of you know now apple's monitors are now with a glossy look, well it looks like crap to me and a lot of other people think the same. I have gotten a suggestion from a pro photographer and he said samsung monitors get good reviews for color and clarity and their a sh*t load less expensive. What do you suggest? What are you using?

Hi SM,
I recently upgraded my old early Samsung 931c monitor to the New T240 24" Samsung Syncmaster, I use it for video editing it has plenty of screen space and resolution is very nice indeed. Price was reasonable too. This monitor I would recomend to anyone, it has DVI, USB2, Analogue and HDMI inputs.
I have mine connected to my Macpro 3ghz , 8800GT card, all is good.
Ther'e are many monitors out there , it's good to get opinions prior to purchase not all are suitable for video or PS work.
I also use the standard Adobe 1998 colour profile, works great for me.

Cheers

I've got a MacPro running two Dell 24" (2408) monitors. For the price, I don't think you can do much better.

I recently upgraded to BENQ FP241W after a lot of research and I'm very happy. It has very good color and very wide angle view so you know you actually see the good color.

Just got a Vizio 42" 1080p LCD HDTV as a monitor.

A bit expensive but there is nothing like working Premiere or Photoshop at 1080p with plenty of screen space.

I was looking at this one, we have a 32"(for T.V. purposes) and it has nice quality for the price.

I have the Gateway XHD3000H. I'm pretty satisfied. I like better one big then two smalls...I use a panasonic 32" hd tube tv for monitoring using a black magic intensity.

I've been using a pair of Samsung 711T monitors for like 4 years now and they ARE very, very good.

I'm a photographer also, so I'm pretty anal about image quality. These monitors, I'd say, for the money are pretty hard to beat.
