Letus Mini and HV30 Focusing issues

I just received my letus mini a few days ago from b&h and i was wondering if im doing something wrong or if there is something wrong with my unit.

I cant get a sharp focus it seems soft all the time i have 2 lenses 50mm/85mm 1.8 canon fd lens. when zooming into the GG i cant zoom past a certain point before it goes pretty out of focus anywhere between the 85-100% zoom onto the GG it seems very soft. and anywhere up to 70-80% zoom it seems sharper but i get some vignetting. is this normal? is there something i need to set on the unit?

Ok so i got it to focus and its pretty nice i guess it needs lots and lots of light..... today was the first sunny day in awhile so i got a chance to film outside a little bit. I did notice that at infinity its out of focus though. It seems to hit infinity before infinity on the lens. is that a normal thing with these adapters?
also i noticed when focusing on things far away it didn't look very sharp at all. it was actually kind of clumpy like the edges of leaves on trees far away etc..

That's because backfocus is off on the adapter itself. There's just no easy way to adjust it on the Mini, unfortunately.

The big question is can you get infinity in focus at all... if so, and then it goes out as you adjust the focus ring than it's a back focus issue... If it 's never in focus you may have an issue with the Ground Glass not being the proper distance from accromat.

This can happen on extremes, you just need to re-seat the vibrating ground glass to the proper mm's away from the unit... the Letus Forum can be a big help as well.

I'll try to get some footage posted or a still or something. Yea i think it hits infinity but before i actually set it on infinity. It seems though that when the sun is hitting i get a better focus. i tried to film in the afternoon and the sun wasn't really shining directly and the image seemed to be a lot softer.

I had another question besides the infinity issue. with the mini and hv30 it seems that i have to push the focus dial on the cam all the way up to get the best focus onto the GG. But i have a feeling that there could be a sharper focus if there was more leeway. it seems that maybe it could be the same issue as the infinity focus? maybe the GG is a little offset? also when i zoom anything past 85% onto the GG it starts going out of focus. specially at 100%. is that normal? i simply cannot focus when zoomed all the way in to the GG.

Thanks for your help. and Happy Thxgiving!!!
