Edius with a Dongle?

I use 2 USB dongles, 1 to run Edius and the other to unlock the Edius Broadcast features. There are times when I need to take my work from the office home and work on my system there, my question is does anyone know how I can do a permanent installation from these dongles so I don’t have to keep running back to the office or home because I forgot to take my dongles with me?

I did read a long time ago that this can be done.

That's strange. I run EDIUS Broadcast and use only 1 dongle - I don't think you need two of them.

I've got Broadcast and only use one dongle...

You can install the dongle's code onto your computer (i.e., transfer the license off of the dongle and onto the hard disk) but it can only be done to one computer. So if you're using it at home and also at work, unless you're on a laptop that you're transporting, you really probably wouldn't want to transfer the license off the dongle.

While they are certainly annoying, the idea of a dongle is much better than an internet or phone based Product Activation system.

Does Edius use any internet or phone based activation, or is simply having the dongle installed sufficient?

Yeh, I thought I had to use 2 dongles when I bought the broadcast upgrade, but found you only need the dongle for broadcast.

Now, when you boot up Edius and it's running, you can take the dongle out. Sometimes I do that so I can use my USB drive in the front of my case, where I usually pop in the Edius dongle.

And, Edius is dongle based, no calling in.
