How can I achieve a cinematic look, shooting in 60i? convert to 24p somehow??

I'm using a Canon xl1... I wish I had the xl2 since that features a 24p frame rate function.

What presets can I use to get a more cinematic look while shooting in 60i?

Or...should I try to convert/deinterlace the 60i to 24p? 30p?

I have Adobe Premier Suite... is there any way I could edit in post to make it look more cinematic?

Nattress and Twixtor are a couple of programs that will do a reverse telecine down to 24p.

i could be wrong, but i believe even the gl series has that mode.(cineframe?) im pretty sure its a faux progressive mode though, and not the true progressive video.

Yeah, the cineframe mode isn't a true progressive, so it won't look as good.

If you have the Adobe suite, check out this tutorial from videocopilot. I've never used it, but it sounds like what you need.

A friend sent me this also, and I followed it, and I think the frame rate has changed, but in the info box it says it's still playing in real time at 29.97fps. I'm new to After Effects...
