I Need Your Music Video

I just became the program director of my college tv station. I need some content in the 2-6 minute range to fill in some gaps in my programming.

I have been airing mainstream music videos but I'd much rather use something a little more indie. If you have a music video that's appropriate for broadcast and looks good, it could reasonably be aired hundreds of times.

You'd need to provide a copy on MiniDV/DVD/Beta/IMX. 16:9 (not letterboxed) is preferred. Please don't just send me a link to your youtube video, I need something that is broadcast quality.

If you want an address for shipping, PM me.

I have one that I did about a year ago. Unfortunately, the band made almost all the decisions in the cutting process, so it's not as cool as it could have been, but have a look at it (youtube link).

Format: DVCAM, PAL, 16:9

I could upload a broadcast quality version to my server if you are interested.

If you provide a high quality electronic copy I can work with it. If you can do the NTSC conversion yourself in an NLE it will help keep me from having to spend all day doing conversions. Plus, the hardware PAL to NTSC converter in our master control isn't exactly elegant, so you could have better control over the pulldown and aspect ratio changes. The most important part is the 16:9 source.

So, in short, I'd prefer a tape, but I'll take electronic submissions if I have to.

Indie is just my way of saying I'd rather promote bands that need and appreciate the promotion. If you've never played on MTV, you're indie enough for me.

I'll send you mine and give your message to another whose video would be perfect, his is not an indy song, violet hill by coldplay, if you do accept it and air it, could you send me an airdate and acceptance reply, your mailing address to, Goodluck in your search.

I hadn't really thought about online format.
I guess if you can't mail me a tape, the best way would be mpeg 2 files ready for NTSC DVD encoding, in the 3000-6000 kbps range. That way I can just knock them all out to a single DVD on my computer. I guess I'll need to spend a few nights downloading all this stuff.

The server stores files at 50mbps, so if you can send a tape, it will definitely be a higher quality playback.

Again, please be sure they are widescreen (not letterbox).

Thanks, there are some great submissions so far, keep them coming!!!
I'll be putting this batch to air by the end of the week.

Okay, lots of interest but not a lot of deliveries. So far only "Mirror" and "Now or Never" have gotten me videos that I have been able to download.

I will put the address out there for the rest of the world to mail to:

I haven't seen anything in the mail yet, I hope to see something soon!
