Hi guys,

I have the letus extreme and already have a zoom lens and normal lens. I am in the market for a wide lens. I have a budget of $1100 for it. I have the Nikon and Canon FD & EF mounts.

Which lens at this price would you suggest that would be great with my Letus Extreme?

Thanks!

P.S. I have a Canon DSLR

nikon 17-35 f2.8 not sure what those are going for these days but an excellent lens. Should be around your budget used.

edit: just noticed the canon slr part... the nikon lens won't help there hehe.

I use a 24mm f2.8 and, although it's not super fast, it gives beautifully sharp results and you can pick it up on eBay for about $130. I use this lens extensively.

I wouldn't blow $1100 on a wide lens because you can buy the one I suggested and get some others.

24mm f2.8 Nikon is my favorite lens too. Like Disjecta said, grab a used one for 1/10th the price on ebay or craigslist. I bought both my zooms and my 24mm there. All 3 were in great condition. Worse case is if the lens doesn't meet your standards, you can always resell and make your money back.

hmmmm....all valid points

I was thinking to get an EF lens for both my DSLR and letus....

Still looking..

I have a 24mm and and 28mm. Both nikons are f2.8 and it does the job nicely. For Nikons, I prefer AIS lenses because any lenses made before that time is not DSLR adaptable and could damage the camera. I'm not familiar if it is the same for Canon EF lenses on Canon DSLR's. But on Nikons it is a major issue because of the pin clearance factor.
