Man sues for $54 million over missing pants.

Someone should sue that guy for being a complete jackass. Get ****ing real, trying to put a small business out of business and I can't imagine the amount their paying in lawyers fees trying to defend this.

This is an old case, and the frosting on the cake is the Claimant is a Judge. Just one more case of Injustice in the System. The cleaners even tried to pay him a reasonable amount to cover these pants, but he obviously thought Litigation was the proper path. For what he is trying to get, you would think the pants used to belong to Elvis or something.

$54 Million!?
They would have to be God's pants.

$54 Million for missing pants? I'll bet the settlement comes up short.

The guy probably thinks his underpants are worth a load more... but I'd expect that to be a brief case... because it would take balls to try that suit.

After the trial they should suspend him... because if they suspend him we may not have trials like this holding up our judicial system.

Suspend? This joker deserves to be disbarred, and tossed in jail. The original suit he filed was $69 Mil. This is as ridiculous as the Judge that released a Deputy Sheriff who started 17 wildfires while on duty, with probation.

This country should move to a system where if the person bringing up the lawsuit loses he then has to pay the other person's lawyer fees. That would significantly cut down on such frivolous cases.

"Foster told authorities that she saw Thompson use the device almost daily during the August 2003 murder trial of a man accused of shaking a toddler to death. A whooshing sound could be heard on Foster's audiotape of the trial. When jurors asked the judge about the sound, Thompson said he hadn't heard it but would listen for it."

Boy... there is just so many things wrong with this, I don't even know where to start...

I can't even begin comprehend how strange this is. New Zealand may be small, but at least over here we can't sue each other like this. This is crazy! :Drogar-Smoke(DBG): "Pearson broke down in tears during an explanation about his frustration after losing his pants, and a short recess had to be declared".(Wikipedia) LOL.
