AKG shotgun $200 - Good deal ??

Hi guys,

I found the following for a total of $200:

AKG SE300/CK98 + shock mount (H38) + pistol grip (H7) + phantom power (B18)

I am a noob and don't know much about this mic setup. is this a good deal??

Seriously - this is an outstanding price on a excellent piece of gear. Add a CK93 hyper cap for interiors, some wind protection, and you've got the start of an excellent kit. Search the thread for references to the AKG "blue line"

I just got the package, I tried it at a friend's and it works perfectly. I am still waiting for my Juicedlink mixer to try it on my HV30.

I gotta say, the mic looks like new not a scratch!

I got the Juicedlink with Phantom power, so I might sell the AKG B18 phantom power. Do you think it is wise, or maybe I will need it in the future??

Also, it came with a foam wind screen, I read it's only good for interiors. Any dead cat suggestion for this particular mic?

Rycote S-series #450

Hang on to the phantom supply unless you're short on cash. Might come in handy someday, you never know. Never hurts to be prepared.
