Creating a short fan series with an action / drama genre.

The first batch of 12 episodes we'll be filming over a week period, and I'd like to sort out the filming equipment ready in advance. So far this is the list of possibility's I have:

Cameras

The Sony HVR HD1000E
The HVR-HD1000E has been created to meet the growing demand from users who are looking for an entry-level professional shoulder mount design with full 1080i HDV recording as well as retaining DV capabilities.

The Sony HVR-A1E
Boasting an incredibly small size, and providing HDV with the 1080i standard, the HVR-A1E offers a host of advanced features for professional use. Using technology such as CMOS means the HVR-A1E is an ultra-compact camcorder capable of providing HDV in full 1080 line resolution.

The Sony HVR V1E
Progressive scan (25p) capability and full HDV resolution. The HVR-V1E is a compact and lightweight professional HDV camcorder, sharing similar dimensions to the popular DSR-PD170P

The Sony HDR-FX1
1st HDV 1080i camcorder. High Definition Video Handycam with 3 x 1 Megapixel CCDs, Carl Zeiss® Vario-Sonnar T* lens and a host of manual features.

Audio

If any of you guys have any advice I'd be interested in hearing about it. The one's I'm leaning towards most are the ones I've put in BOLD

I don't have a lot of knowledge with these types of cameras, so I was hoping the forum might be the place to look up on them.

I don't know anything about the series, but more money into audio and less into stabilizers. Under stabilizer I would put tripod.

As far as camera, I've never used a Sony, but I know those cameras aren't recommended very often around here. I'd personally look for something with 24p.

I forgot the obvious Tripods, my bad. Got the Tripod's already.

I did a Search on those camera's, not a lot of promising feedback.

Not sure what else I could put into audio.

We're getting memory chips for the Zoom H2, got a a wind buff & a laptop to rip the audio from the cards on set. So we have a fine rotation of clean memory chips ready for use. A Boom Pole I'm Investing in. Didn't put that down because the size and such is already decided. Do you recommend something for Audio?

I'll start look into other cheap available camera's, thank's.

There's a lot of fire fights and exterior scenes. A couple of Aerial shots, couple of odd explosives being used. Locations are mostly public, railway stations - bus depots, buildings, malls, markets etc.

For a web series I'd go with the The Sony HDR-FX1 and a BeachTek or the The Sony HVR V1E for the 25p and drop a frame. The Sony HVR HD1000E does 50i right. You get get that to 25p then drop a frame but it will be extra work. These are all good camera. And why are you only looking at Sonys (or is that just your preference)?

Everything else is £30 more per day, which add's up to £420 extra per week - 2 cameras.

Looking into some other options though at the moment, why should it be 24p?
