How Has RED Affected your 35mm Adaptor Business?

We just got our RED and we are renting for $1000 a day with everything we have including a Tech/Cam op and it goes down for multiple days. I'm keeping my HVX-Brevis set up for those small indie shorts and stuff but I think Mike may sell to help get more toys for the RED as they are super expensive.
The value of the RED won't come down much as long as RED has the 100% trade in deal for Epic. RED's work flow at the moment has a bad rep and you must be able to physically show thats its not as bad as people think for most situations with smaller budgets.

I am very interested to see what happens with compression in the next two years. Right now, there is the Red frame of mind, which says that the best possible compression is the way to go. Then there is the Ikonoskop mind, which says that processor technology (and storage/transfer) will catch up to an uncompressed workflow.

Where is the momentum right now? The SLR market may end up tipping the scales.

Instead of offering Build 17 for free, Pana made HPX170 for $5199. Free build upgrades + option to upgrade RED One to Mysterium X = hardcore customer loyalty and maintained hardware $$$value for a long, long time.

What's in the package? That's, again, about standard for a Camera without Glass and a good set'a sticks.

I know one package (Matty G actually works it) that's pretty much'a solid bet that goes for a little more than that and comes with pretty decent PL glass and a decent set'a sticks, plus everything you could ever want to shoot with, pretty much.

This is what we are offering at the moment and as we build it will pretty much stay the same. We don't own a tripod for it but have a hook up for one. We are just getting started in this but have already gotten work lined up when we are fully prepared to start renting in Nov. Right now we are learning the ins and outs for about a month.
