Depending on who the black person is. They blackballed Wesley Snipes. He tried to tell them what to do to make Blade 3 a better film. He had input into the first two which are well loved and big hits. The "conventional wisdom" was we have a hit on our hands so why continue to try. According to Snipes himself:
"Snipes claims the filmmakers did not take his suggestions seriously and that the film suffered as a result. He points to Trinity's underwhelming reviews and box office returns as proof of this (it made just $52 million). ''There are so few guys who do action and do it well,'' Snipes says. ''Even fewer who are African-American. Even fewer who have classical-theater training. So a cat like me coming in, I'm bringing all of that to an action movie. I'm not looking at an action movie as something where I just jump around and look beautiful and show my muscles. Since there are so few people that do this and have that pedigree, people disregard their contribution. I think that's what happened on Blade: Trinity."

If black actors just go along to get along there's no problem, but if you push any issue too hard you can be blackballed.
"It seems safe to assume that Hollywood studios won't be eager to hire an actor, even a star of Snipes' caliber, who sued one of their own. Which may explain the recent dearth of major studio films on Snipes' résumé. Snipes thinks his being blackballed is partly to blame. ''The industry began to believe that I was difficult to work with and a risk,'' he says. ''My lawyers told me, 'Wes, if you sue them, it's going to make a lot of other studio execs nervous and it could be a problem.' And I was like, 'What, you mean I'll be blacklisted?' And that's exactly what they've been trying to do.''
Snipes was also hassled by the cops for starting a "militia". You know any white actors who got hassled for that? And very few white militias are shut down (not saying black nor white militias should be simply stating my case). But this guy opens a martial arts school and suddenly it's a militia. Seriously, you believe they would've done this to Tom Cruise?
Denzel Washington isn't just a great "black actor" he's a great actor but he will only get Oscars if he plays bad guys. Why is that. Why do black men have to play pimps, bad cops and hustlers to get awards. I guess his performance as Malcolm x simply wasn't good enough. A performance so good you forget your watching Denzel. That didn't happen in "Training Day" it was a good performance but not as good. He didn't disappear into that role. The last black man to get the Oscar for best actor was Sidney Poitier in 1963.
Halle Berry, got Best Actress in Monster's Ball but again look at the character she played. Halle was the first black female to ever get best actress. And they give her Catwoman? (It's not about it being a superhero film but the quality of superhero film).
Denzel may be better at picking scripts but he knows if he wants that Oscar gold he better play the heavy.
"I always call international the new South, " said Reginald Hudlin, the director of "House Party" and "The Ladies Man" and now the entertainment president of BET Networks. "In the old days, they told you black films don't travel down South. Now they say it's not going to travel overseas."

Ironically overseas they pump in the worst and most negative rap videos (worst than we see here from what I've heard) but Hip-hop is very big in countries even like India where it's huge. But the lie was still that black didn't sale overseas. Now it's "changing". Truth is blacks weren't pushed as hard oversea. Anyone on this forum with a $50,000 - $100,000 can take an HD camera, make an action film and get it sold overseas. All you need is one or two names. Black films were simply not marketed well overseas. Yet negative rap is marketed very well. So well that many people overseas (including Africans) think American blacks are killers and thieves. Will Smith is about the only black guy they see that's not a thug. (I'm being facetious here but you get the point). Am I the only person saying this? To say people overseas were "racist" is somewhat of a fib. Blacks have reported people being more open to them in Europe than here in their own country. But in countries like China, Japan, India etc, blacks are considered thugs if not famous.
Hollywood wants you to see what they want you to see. They want you to hear what they want you to hear. They control you and one day will find a way to gain control of the internet to stop you from making media. The goal to break down the moral fiber and re-educate you and sell to you based on your willingness to except anything without question. Get deep inside this dragon and try to kill it from the inside if possible.
