Vegas USE on TV and Motion Pictures

Does anyone know what TV shows, and motion pictures have been edited with Sony Vegas Professional? I was at NAB this past Spring and Sony Creative had Survivorman and the Music creator for Speed Racer who used Sound Forge. Creative Cow mentioned a TV animation series that was all edited with SVP.

I'm sick of my FCP and Avid friends hurting my feelings....

It's time to rule the world with Sony!

The matrix movies were all Avid. The first one got an Oscar for editing. Zach (somebody). I wonder if you can do an IMDB search to get a list? It would be interesting.

While this would nice, it isn't going to happen with the way Sony is currently developing Vegas. They could build it into the most kick-ass editor that's ever been, but it's not what they're doing, and they're showing few if any signs of being interested in doing it.

This topic has acutally been covered before; there's actually quite a lot of movies and TV that have been cut on Vegas. Just not major motion pictures and not major television. That is the realm of Avid and, increasingly, Final Cut Pro.

Both our features were cut entirely in Vegas, played dozens of film festivals, and distributed directly to DVD. We're not the only ones, though.

Do a search of feature in this forum and you should find a few...

...and don't think that Vegas is keeping you from cutting a feature. The only thing keeping anyone from cutting a feature is themselves.

If its of any inspiration,, most of Shania Twains music videos were cut in Vegas.
Vegas was also used for Music Videos by Rod Stewart, Quiet Riot and Sheryl Crow.
:).
Does this make you feel any better ? Its at least a start right.

Vegas greatest advantage is it gives you great value for the $.

Movieproductions dont have the same limited funding like we do. So they can chose anything they want more or less.

But there are stuff Sony could do to Vegas, to make it attractive to the filmindustry. But how much more can they make by doing this.

Sure they could rise their prices, and gain some extra $. But on the other hand they loose atraction for their main target audience, when the prices goes up.

I think the problem is that Sony Vegas have no hardware support. Hardware support is very usefull for editing.

If sony will create hardware support it'll increase popularity in TV/film Pro Productions.

In My opinion (i tried AVid, FCP, AdobePremiere) Sony Vegas is more "friendly" to user, and offer much more speed for quick-creation. Tracks, shortcuts and interface is "for me" much friendly than others offer.

But i'm still vaiting for HARDWARE Support ;) Why they don't think about it???

Now i purchased new PC so AVCHD (Panasonic HMC151) files editing in native have no problem in BEST (Vegas Setting)

in 1080p i've no problem with editing now... everything is going smooth even in BEST settings
