Just got an email from a JVC sales/marketing rep, the only information was cut/paste into the title of this thread so your guess is as good as mine, new cameras always make for interesting chit chat though :Drogar-Love(DBG):
 
Let me take a stab at it:

hd300u and its going to be the exact same camera as the hd200u but it will record hdv to flash... and cost $4000 more.
 
How soon?

If you are correct, then what a let down!

If they came out with the HD 300 and it had 1/2" chips with SDI for $8,500 then they could do some damage.
 
I have to learn to control myself with JVC and their 'hold your breath' press releases...

Last year at NAB I was told big news and great products. I think there was a new HD projector...

This could just be that handycam already seen in the other forum site which takes SD...

Arn't they talking about something like near on 3 grand for that thing? it only has a single slot, and only records at 25MBps...

Its great they are going SxS but I don't think that device really isn't impressing anyone if it is really going to be that price. Its neally half the price of an EX1...

lol, I wonder if it will work with the Kengstington/Sandisk Combo!
 
Yeah sXs seems silly if it's only 25Mbps HDV.

"Gee, let's pay a whole lot more than we have to for solid state when we could have just used CF." Or am I missing something? JVC product manager Semir Nouri spent a lot of time praising SDHC and "inexpensive media" in this video. Did JVC change their mind?

That video is full of great info on 720p by the way. Recommended viewing!
