Thanks guys...It'll probably lose something in the transition to avatar but I'll try it for fun:)

Thanks Larry...Funny, I was standing on a bridge looking down at the water, framing this shot when a couple crossing the bridge came over to me and said "What choo got there?"..."A leaf!" say I. The woman smiled and looked at the man..."Nice spot though" says he and they walked away talking and chuckling quietly. My moment of self doubt ended when I opened up this image for the first time because I too thought it was "Fantastic" :)

heh-heh .... what passers by don't know.

That story reminds me of one back in the eighties .... It was one of those days where the high (F) temp is like -2, some wind and some snow and lots of blue sky ... The snow was blowing across the now harvested corn field and was amazingly surreal looking. There was a ditch along the road (normal ALL over NW Ohio) I get out of the car, climb down into the ditch, come up the other side and lay on my belly with my eyes just above ground level. I take my trusty Minolta out from under my coat and get some shots that I really like. As I'm doing this with very frigid fingers (of course the shot was worth it! :) ), I hear a voice behind me. It was an old lady hollering out, "Are you ok??!" As I turned to answer, she saw the camera and gave me a wave of the hand and a somewhat disgusted look and drove away. I smiled and thought, "Betcha she doesn't have a picture like I have."

I think the average person buys a camera to document what they see before them and don't fire a shot unless there's a reason like the look of their vacation beech cabana or their little girl playing soccer or Godhelpus...The Eiffel Tower. I like to try and get some shots of the stuff we don't regularly see and in so doing, you get "The Look" The couple I dealt with could have looked off that bridge until cows evolved into two legged hopping animals but the leaf would never have been "seen":)

Here's one that didn't hit the mark, same idea though...I would have looked pretty funny to those passing by shooting this log.
