Why Why Why Did Apple have to go with AT&T ?????

What do you mean kicked off BBB ?

What new name ? AT&T isn't AT&T ?

Yea I love Verizon too !!!

Cingulair bought out AT&T and, because of poor customer service was kicked out of the BBB. Following that they changed the name of the entire company to AT&T in what (in my opinion) was a scam to make people think they had changed in some way.

Just a thought, but if your iPhone keeps dropping calls it might be the phone design and not necessarily AT&T's fault. As one review of the iPhone said, it may be the best iPod ever but not particularly a great cell phone. Oops.

No, Cingular was a joint venture between AT&T and BellSouth, both of which were bought by SBC global, which then adopted the name of AT&T.

It was an acquisition which took AT&T full circle, because SBC global was formerly Southwestern Bell, which was formed, along with BellSouth, out of the breakup of the original AT&T. Now, AT&T and its babies are a single company again, though it was one of the babies which did the re-consolidation.

EDIT: But AT&T Wireless, a separate company from AT&T, was merged into Cingular some years ago; that's not when or why the name was changed, though.

I've heard you can unlock the iphone to work with other companies. I looked into this briefly when I was shopping for a business cell phone for myself, but decided the cost/benefit for my company wasn't worth it yet. Cingular was the first cell company I got and it was terrible, since then me and my whole family have been on Verizon and it's been great. I'll probably wait for the iPhone to be available for Verizon.

I have a Blackberry Bold and love it. Just a suggestion for an alternative for the iPhone. I've played around with both and happen to like the Bold much more.

Like I said above (kind of) I could care less about the iPhone. I have grown to resent "fads" and that is just what this is. The Razr was kind of a fad a year or so ago. Everybody and their dog had to have a ****ing Razr and I said "no!" That's how I feel about the iPhone. Is it nice? Yes. Is it nice enough for me to want what everyone else has? No, there are plenty of phones out there that are just as good if not better than the iPhone.
