Audio pops When opening FCP or STP

If my monitors are on when I open FCP or Soundtrack Pro, for some reason I am hearing small audio pops coming from my speakers. This only happens on start up or opening either of the two applications. I never got the pops on FCP but I have had them with STP.

Anyone know why this is and what's causing the pops?
 
I had that too... I attributed it to unbalanced speakers. Also, if you've got a cell phone around it can make some sounds too, but NOT the ones I think you are talking about.

Sorry I don't have a better answer. How is your audio set up? What are you using and how are they connected to the computer?

I have Behringer Truth Studio Monitors. I am using a RCA splitter to plug into the computer then the other end of both cables are Phono plugs for the speakers. I agree I have an option to run an XLR cable to the speakers but I would need an external mixer first I think unless I can go RCA to XLR.
