Headphone jack busted

I think the headphone jack on my HVX200 is starting to go. Sometimes it works fine, and then it cuts out completely. You can get it working fine again if you jiggle the cable a bit. (I tested with a different set of headphones- same problem.)
There are some small screws on the side, and it looks like I might be able to easily replace the jack (with a part from Radioshack maybe?).
Anyone had any experience with this?

What camera is this? You might have a large electrical supplier like RS or Farnell that sell every electronic component and part that has ever existed. Infact RS has literally milleons of products, and they would definatly sell the chassis socket you speak of.

You just need to find out which one it is and order a new one...
 
I have had the exact same issue with my HVX as well, slightly annoying since the camera is just over a year old. If anyone has luck fixing the issue I would love to know, not overly interested in spending a couple hundred to get it fixed.
 
First try to push the connectors in more that make contact with the headphone plug.

If that doesn't work check the solder on the connections. It's really easy to take the cover off to get to them.
