BROTHERS BLOOM from BRICK filmmaker Rian Johnson

[Jack Daniel Stanley]

Rachel Weisz, Adrien Brody, Mark Ruffalo, Rinko Kikuchi, Maximilian Schell
written / directed by Rian Johnson, who made the outstanding film BRICK - a kind of MALTESE FALCON with high school kids. If you haven't seen BRICK, Net Flix it.

Here's his new one, out this January.

Hope BROTHERS BLOOM is not to BRICK as SMOKING ACES is to NARC (though NARC was Carnahan's second film) since BROTHERS BLOOM looks more "fun" and "heisty" than BRICK. Really looking forward to it though.

Me too. It's screening at TIFF and Mark Ruffalo's in town. I think he's a great actor - got some kinda Peter Falk-vibe going on.

Better go see it tonight if you want to catch it at TIFF, looks like it's only screening dates were the 9th and tonight the 11th at midnight:

You can give us an early report.

Peter Falk? Hmmm maybe. Kind of mubley with curly black hair, but I never found his looks so off / interesting that they bordered on distracting (like with Falk). I don't think Falk's played many romantic leads either.

One of the only movies I'm REALLY looking forward to.

best thing about brick is JGL the movie is pretty forgettable besides him and his performance.
