HPX500 or HD100 with SGpro...

Hi,

Im doing a short in afew weeks, and, up until afew hours ago, we had booked out an HPX500. I know sticking an adapter on the front of a camera like this isn't ideal, but I thought it was better than no adapter at all, since we have lots of light to work with.

The hire people have now announced that we may not be able to have the HPX and the best they can offer us instead is a JVC HD100. Hmm.

Obviously the main differences are 1080p/720p, p2/tape, dvcpro/hdv, etc etc, but has anyone ever stuck an an SGPro on one of these cameras? If so what was the result like?

Has anyone ever stuck an SGpro on an HPX500? Do you think its worth badgering them about it, or finding another company that can hire us an HPX?

Thanks for any input.

Can they give you the JVC HZ-CA13U Cine Optical PL mount Lens Adapter as well? Its the JVC lens adapter and there is 0 light loss, but does require PL mount lenses. Just a thought.

Neither SG, Redrock, Letus, Brevis etc will work with a 2/3" camera (HPX500) unless you intend you shoot outside under high f stops and even then I'm not sure how it will perform. If you don't care about optical quality be my guest but you will have severely out of focus corners.
Don't know about the HD100, but it probably works as its a 1/3" chip isn't it?

Only 2/3" adapter available is the P+S.
