btw, those pictures from the last page... they look so depressive?! your other pics were always so colour- and joyful. what happened?

haha, well we're location scouting for a sci-fi concept and i thought i'd make it look as close as i could to the genre we're aiming for. besides, i don't know if i'm the biggest fan of the very vibrant colors anymore. gotta play around until you find your niche, right?

I like it, Timur. It looks a little soft on the top right, but that could be attributed to compression and resizing for all I know.

I find the single lit window in the building on the right interesting. Did you frame the image with that single lit window in mind, or was it chance?

what do you mean overdone? this is practically out of camera. F22 30"seconds @ 50iso. 24-105 L series.

the only part i photoshopped were the lights, i had to HDR that part. Yes the window light was intentional.

I see what he's saying now, only because I'm using a laptop LCD screen which produces murky colors around the top of the building. I didn't notice it using my external display last night.

oh absolutly, also its a CRAP Jpeg, im going to replace it with a good one now... i can see pixelation EVERYWHERE.... eww...

pixelation - that´s the word i was looking for. looking forward to sseing the new version.

definetly better. but i don´t know - if you would desaturate the light just a bit to fit them to the rest of the picture. that would be more harmonic.

actually i just watched it in b/w and it looks very good imo.

I also see that the lights of the building don't fit in with the rest. I noticed it right away, then read the comments.
There's MUCH more latitude in just the top of the building than everywhere else. Too much. Like PT said, it needs to be de-saturated quite a bit in order to "blend" with the rest. Maybe you can't tell on your monitor?

Fantastic pic though...

Here's a VERY quick version. I just used the elliptical select tool and grabbed the entire top of the building (including the sky), but I think the lights themselves look more natural. Hope you don't mind...

I actually didn't desaturate as much as I thought I'd have to. I brought up the black output just in that area... that seemed to do the trick.

yea thoes lights are actually REALLY bright i had to do three exposures to get them all in in raw...

Took this in a bar last night.... I so love my 5D.......
