You are spot on! GG2 indeed looks more film like but does suffer more from grain. GG1 allows much more freedom where this is concerned, and is also a little sharper!
 
I would actually like to see more footage from this unit.
a comparison footage would really be nice if it's possible and maybe not shot with the EX1 this time.(HVX or DVX maybe)

also I hope we can see footage from the 5 beta testers that received their unit but would that happen?
let's hope they can show some creativity and have great examples to show us!!


Edite: One more question- I'm having hopes to the GG2 now & would like to know if the GG2 will be made out of real glass as well? I know the GG2 has a specail coating to it and it will have less light loss then the SGpro but is that it? will the GG2 option be a little cheaper too?

Congratulations Wayne on the first footage of the SGblade. I´ve been reading for some time about this, so I´m aware of all the work and effort is involved here.

Now, as a potential client, what I would like to see of a new product, is more indoors footage and res/focus/color charts. It´s really common to find outdoors landscape footage with every adapter in the market. With sunlight is easier to get good quality things, but indoors and with charts is where the really good products starts to play and make a difference.

I saw only Cinevate, if I remember correctly, doing charts. I still would like to see more. Professional tests, to show how professional is the product.

I would recommend this to any adapter/camera maker.

The selected beta testers have a nice mix of cams, HVX200, XHA1, EX1, DVX100 ect...

They will each be posting pics, footage and reviews/opinions on the beta units....

I will also ask them to shoot both interior/exterior shots and also res charts :)
 
I'm woundering if you can post footage that's shot with the GG1 and GG2 as well.

would like to see how different they are.

Hey, do we have speed numbers for Blade with the original and new GGs?
 
Hi Guys,

We plan to get GG1 & GG2 comparison shots up once we get the beta enclosures in this month. We will also do a lightloss test between GG1, GG2 and the SGpro.
 
Beautiful venue for your shots Wayne, where exactly is this?....your adapter looks really good. It would be nice if you could post it at HD resolution on something like Vimeo or ExposureRoom. Also, the next time you are out and using smaller apertures, move the camera around in sky shots, that's where any gg pattern shows up...not so much on static shots.

Thanks for the update Wayne, I can't wait to hear more. It looks very sharp, but I haven't been checking out the EX1 footage so I can't really judge accurately but that's why you sent them out to people with all different cameras. :thumbsup:
