A couple of years back I directed a small, very low-budget, feature here i Denmark. It's a basic action-comedy and we got a nice little distribution deal in both Denmark and Germany. Since then I've tried to get some form of distribution in the US. Mainly because I think that would be a neat thing and maybe we could even make a buck.
I don't seem to have had much luck though. We've been in touch we a lot of different small distributers, but all of them either asked ridiculous demands or just never made good on they're promises. Recently I've tried working with small company in LA called Glass Ceilling Studios, but nothing ever actually happened, and I've kind of given up on them.
So my question is: Is it just me being a fool, thinking that this could happen, or have I not gotten in contact with the right people? Obviously this is a foreing languange film, so the market would be limited I guess, but still. I'm not asking to be a millionaire. Just a fair deal, where something actually happens.
So what should I expect, and can anyone point me to a decent distrib that might help me out?
