API failure

Trying to render a quicktime H264 file from a 1080i timeline.

It runs for a while and then I get an error message that says: "API failure."

Does anyone have any idea what that is?

Thanks,

Not knowing what version Premiere your using or your computer specs, I did find this on Adobe's site:

Hope that helps! :)

Also, take a look at this as the more information we know the better we can help you. :)

Thanks for the replies. I'm going to start working through these suggestions and see what happens.

I'm running CS3 on a dual Xeon PC with adobe on the system drive and two drives in a raid 0 configuration with project files on one drive and media on the other. Also have another drive for general stuff.

I just realized that there might be another issue and that is that I use Prospect and am therefore working with cineform avi files. Wonder if that has anything to do with it.

I'll head off to the cineform site and see what I find. I'll post an answer if I end up fixing it.
