I'm shooting a micro-budget feature in the UK starting November 08 and am looking for someone to read through the screenplay and
1) Find plot holes
2) Suggest which areas need improvement generally
3) Provide creative input towards the story and screenplay with ideas on enhancement of characters, settings, sequences, structure etc
4) Comment on how "good" they think the screenplay is, in terms of artistic flair and commercial viability (for the festival circuit)
5) Complete a macro analysis in terms of what they drew from the screenplay- in terms of messages, values and meaning.
6) Not comment on grammar, punctuation and the little mistakes in formatting (although it is in the standard format).
Couple of pages of analysis would do good things for the script I'm sure. Here is the synopsis:
The Family Picture
In a run-down flat resides Victor Knight, a 17 year old
orphan who lives with, and for, his younger sister
Candy who he nurses through her terminal illness. On
the advent of Candy’s birthday she wishes to know
one family secret: who are their parents? Willing and
dutiful, Victor discretely undertakes this task and
starts by tracking-down his former fosterer in search
of clues to his parents’ identity and whereabouts.
When ‘clues’ it is that Victor is given, he is pointed in
the direction of a clock-tower. Whilst trying to race
against time for his sister’s sake and demystify this
monument’s cryptic significance in their lives, he
befriends a peculiarly helpful woman in a nearby
church whose family affairs he finds himself
inadvertently becoming more and more involved with.
Unearthing a family history that doesn’t want to be
unturned sends Victor on a turbulent journey of
emotions, leaving this teenager-turned-adult with a
profound insight behind the concept of family and a
dreaded sense of guilt.
Won't be able to pay anything, but as in the subject, will give you a screen credit, and it is always nice to get to know talented screenwriters in the business. Also, expect a DVD copy and an invite to the opening screening. Just to add, it is a charity funded project so you will be supporting a worthy cause.
Please message with your past experience in the field and why you'd love to take this on. Ideally, I'd have two or three script doctors on this- but will take on as many that show some potential to contribute to the project.
Regards,
Nash
