The Last House On The Left (2009)

No way can this movie be rated R... Either it gets released as an NC-17, or they have to butcher the hell out of it. I was a huge fan of Wes Craven's early work and had no hope going into this movie that it would be anywhere near as good as the original, but it was! The movie is just gruesome and brutal. Also very suspenseful and realistic. All the actors are on point, as well. I'd recommend it to anyone...unfortunately, I think many of the great scenes wont fly with the MPAA. Some people were so disgusted during the rape scene that they walked out the theatre. I'm just glad I was lucky enough to catch it before they cut the good stuff out of it.

Trailer posted soon.

By "the great scenes" and "the good stuff" you mean the most gruesome and sadistic depictions of molestation, rape, torture and gore, yes?

Just wanted to clarify.

to each their own, but i can't help wonder what the "entertainment value" is in seeing a person raped and tortured. or why some people (and I understand there IS a large audience for this) find it so gratifying to watch.

I'd be interested in knowing too.

I was reading on the IMDB boards and one person was excited about the movie because, if I remember correctly, "You get to see the Riki Lindhome's tits as she's getting raped."

...Let that statement sink in a bit...

I can dig that Zak.

The films today that seem popular like Saw or Hostel (Torture Porn) are beyond me.

Never saw the original, just read about it on Wiki.
Sounds like it's just trying to be shocking, nothing else. I'll pass.

I too hate the slew of SAW/Hostel movies, torture porn is not my thing.

I'm not a fan of the original, so I'll most likely skip this. I'm more of a suspense guy than a gorehound and rape scenes disgust me.

Not a fan of this genre so i will pass, but i must say i enjoyed Vacancy and dont really think it fits the Saw/hostel mold it was a fairly entertaining thriller i thought. Ofcourse Kate Beckinsale was in it so that could explain why i enjoyed it.
