Take delivery time into your criteria when deciding wich 35 mm adapter!

It´s been 40 days since I placed my order!
The day I placed my order the lead time was 5 days for my order!:crybaby:

When you´re deciding what 35 mm you'll buy you check so many tech specs that are so similar but never realize how important is a serious company that knows when they´ll ship their products!

You can notice when you click on purchase option on REDROCKMICRO web page that you have to agree that REDROCKMICRO is has no commitment on when they´ll ship your order. But they have another section they call lead times but that´s only a joke cause as they say it´s only an estimate and it can change!!!

They say they prioritize orders, but we, buyers are unable to check our order!

Be careful! Don´t get cheated by a beautiful website with great marketing. REDROCKMICRO do not know when they will be able to ship my order 40 days from payment.

Day 40 REDROCKMICRO reply (quote): "...And while we are working on making our lead times shorter and the estimates more accurate, it could definitely use improvement and we know this."

If you want to know the whole story and how it ends follow this link: http://www.redrockmicro.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6159

I hope the REDROCKMICRO M2 will worth the wait. I´ll review it for you!!!

Promess!

Until then... happy filming!

So you started an account here just to complain about red rock? Your thread there is gone, so why bring it here just to complain about it? You only have 2 posts here and both are just b*tching about red rock.

to be perfectly honest, I stopped taking you seriously when I found out you ordered a redrock micro. someone would have to pay me to use that thing.

took me about 45 days to get my sgpro and 2 weeks later had to return it for repair, which took another 27 days only to have it take a poop again 2 months later.

my letus extreme took about 25 days for delivery. I bought the rod support a week later and that arrived within 7 days.

I got my Brevis 2 days after payment, and that included shipping half way (literally) around the world.

The website said four weeks when I ordered my SGpro, but I had the email saying it was ready about a week later. I went and picked it up from Wayne.

My micromattebox took about 80 days to come.

My two cents:
I've arrived at the point to think these aren't real companies... they're only some guys in a garage.
But who would invest to manufacture a product that will be out of fashion in a couple of years...? ALL future video cameras won't need that stuff any longer...

Here we go with that crap again. That's what everybody said with the announcement of Scarlet...Wrong.

funny, I've only had good experiences with red rock. I recently ordered the micro x and the lead time was 9 days. I got a confirmation 2 days later after purchase saying that it was shipped.

My m2 also had to have the motor replaced. So I sent it in, and had it returned to me in a little less than a week, they even overnighted it back to me.

I just don't get why I've never experienced these long wait times when buying stuff from redrock, I guess I'm just lucky? They've always been very fast and helpful.

I really don't think they mean any harm at towards you. I think what happened is that they got a little to big to fast with the release of the mattebox, which I'm sure has slowed everything else down for them. Still not a good excuse, but they're a small company trying the best they can.

It usually takes me a week to get and accessory from redrock. However, it took me about a month to get my last order, which was a FF whip. I think the order got lost because they only sent it to me after I did a follow up contact, weeks after ordering.

Everything I've ordered from cinevate takes 2 days.

I've found a little public pillory for lousy customer service has worked wonders in getting some manufacturers to step up their game. Will these adaptors be obsolete anytime soon? The day a 35mm size chip camera drops below 10 grand or so, 35mm adaptors will be a curiousity of the past. As far as Scarlet goes, it'll probably boost the business as 2/3" just ain't the same.

I don't think so. Let's not forget the Pro35 from P+S was designed for 2/3" cameras, so...as you say: we still have some time till the day the sensors are full size.

Cinevate certainly doesn't run from a garage. We work very hard to make sure that everything is kept in stock and orders are sent fedex express worldwide within 1 business day of an order. To do that (and provide same day support) takes a very dedicated staff, including Hubert who mans the phone and email every day :-)

Anyone visiting Thunder Bay is always welcome to stop in and visit our office/studio space for a coffee and a chat. If you're really close we'll take you out to the machine shop that does 90% of our CNC work...locally. I don't often speak about my thoughts on economics but we've done our best to support local business, including at least one new one that has emerged to do our powder coating and annodizing. I know that most consumers don't worry about this stuff too much, but I can tell you that your business means a great deal to our staff and the large group of folks supporting us that make it all happen.

Cheers,
Dennis.

Must have misunderstood me. "2/3 ain't the same", I'm referring to its DOF relative to a 35mm imager. So as long as a Scarlet or whatever is 2/3" and the cheapest offering for a 35mm imager is over 20G, there will be a place for 35mm adaptors. As much as I think 35mm adaptors are cool, I rue the day for a sub 15 G system with a 35mm chip. With a red body and necessary fixins to be functional hitting 35 k plus, I give it about two years, before the low budget indy 35 imager is here. Something at sub hpx 500 prices.

I'm sure someone out there already has the blueprints.

PS. Just wanted to add that from the early days to now, Cinevates rep for fast turn around sets the standard. No bait and wait here. Other companies worth citing for great customer service: Nebtek, Zacuto, Peter Lisand, Specialized Comm,.... Maybe should start a customer service thread?

I think 35mm adapter companies are aware of what the future holds. That's why you see them offering more than just adapters. Redrock seems to be focussing on matteboxes and followfocuses. Cinevate, the follow focus, dollys, and who knows what else. The future survival of these companies will be about their lineup as well as name recognition and reputation.

Yes, I misunderstood your statement. As for the rest.... it will take some time... Prices and specs change as we type.
