35mm relay/adapter for 2/3" cameras in the works?

I've seen rumors here and there of some companies other than P+S that have plans for a 2/3" b4 mount relay for all of our 35mm lenses. Anyone have any concrete info pertaining to possible release dates and prices?

No rumours on our part. The Brevis MP.1 will shortly have an accompanying ground up, low dispersion glass, spec designed relay module with support for B4 to start and several other mounts coming. It's not a repackaged macro lens but is designed from the ground up both mechanically and optically to our specs. The unit supports both full frame SLR and cinema frames.

Like just about everything we do, existing MP.1/flip or REV2/flip owners will not require any purchases other than the module itself :-)

That's really exciting Dennis. I love that it supports both SLR and cine framing.

Will it mate to the existing Brevis units with screw threads so we could also use it with other adapters making it a universal unit?

Any estimate for cost?

Yes, it will mate to existing units but also support threaded fitment kind of like our flip does for third party applications. How it performs with other adapters is a big question as it's completely spec'd for the Brevis unit. Cost for the unit is still projected sub $2500.

Cheers,
Dennis.

Thanks Dennis, My guess is if the other units focus at a similar distance on say an HVX then it will likely work but who knows until you try.

What are the limits of this adapter?
- Any vignetting?
- Is there a maximum or minimum f stop for SLR lenses?
- Can you use shuttter with it? ie 1/250, 1/500 etc
- How much light loss?

Would love to get one, but it seems all of these adapters do have their quirks.... which quirks does the brevis have?

So is this a stand alone unit... or this kind of like a brevis with a flip unit kinda of look...
