Quantum of Solace

My view on which actor played the best Bond changes from time to time, but at the moment the order is:

Craig
Dalton
Connery
Brosnan
Moore
Everyone else on earth
Lazenby

Oh, and I just watched that teaser trailer... AWESOME! It reminds me a lot of Dalton's role in License to Kill ... rouge Bond randomly killing people for revenge will always be 150% better than stupid invisible cars or ice castles...

I grew up on Moore so he is the bond that I equate with so many good films.

I liked all of these films.
Live and Let Die (1973)
The Man with the Golden Gun (1974)
The Spy Who Loved Me (1977)
Moonraker (1979)
For Your Eyes Only (1981)
Octopussy (1983)
A View to a Kill (1985

The "best" bond argument could go on forever and ever.

Maybe, but Octopussy and A View to a Kill were suckfests on par with the last couple Brosnan movies. Moonraker was a lot of fun, but I wouldn't call it good; take Drax's dialogue away and it's sub-par.

(I mean, come ON -- the Tarzan yell when he's swinging on a vine?)

I will take the yell over the 18 wheeler popping a wheelie to avoid a RPG any day of the week. (license to Kill)

I don't see Craig making anything with trick trucks and vine swinging but it's still early. and After I saw Goldeneye I did not think I would see Invisible cars either. I do miss Q though.

I gotta give the props to Connery because for the most part, he played the role of Bond first
Connery was the first SUCCESSFUL Bond, but not the first. Remember, Casino Royale has been made for at least the 3rd time, it startet in black and white with Peter Lorre as Le Chiffre.

The problem with Brosnan's Bond is that he IS Bond. Pierce Brosnan would have been a perfect Bond had he just walked on the set and been himself. However, he felt he had to act. So, his Bond wound up cheesy and over the top. If his director had pulled him off the side just once and said "dude. what are you doing? do you realize just how naturally cool and Bond-like you already are??? stop acting. just be." He would have been great.

Also, I find it interesting that the critics who hated Dalton as Bond LOVE Craig. They are so similar in their Bond portrayals. They are both alpha, rough around the edges, and wouldn't hesitate to snap a neck. I loved Timothy Dalton in the role and I felt the critics weren't ready for his interpretation yet and thus shafted him. Enter Craig. Dalton 20 years later. He's great though. I do dig Craig in the role big time.

Craig is better than Dalton IMO. But Dalton was cool as bond as well. I liked all of their choices for bond but The Brosnan films just started getting more and more ridiculous. He was good as bond but his movies fell further and further into suckville.

Its James Bond! One of the longest running series of all time! No matter what it is going to be awesome and Timothy Dalton is hands down the worst bond of all time.

And what makes Dalton the worst Bond of all time? If it's that obvious, it shouldn't be too hard to articulate why.

New Quantum of Solace Poster!
