Tropic Thunder (Ben Stiller's new movie)

All I know is that after Pineapple Express, it was nice to watch a movie that actual gave me more that a couple laughs.

Yeah the fake previews were pretty sweet. I enjoyed this though I think stiller should write and direct more. This had it moments where I was very pleased. just the clicheness of it was funny because it made it self aware to it. and matthew M was actually tolerable in this film.

The Fatties FART II...
c'mon now, absolute BRILLIANCE! A fart pun that would make the ancient Greeks AND ye Olde English lose their poop.

Jack Black was hysterical in this. Between him and Cruise I don't know who I laughed at more. It was not nearly as funny as say an Anchor Man, but I enjoyed it. Downey Jr, and Stiller were good as well. But Jack Black had me dying. When that bat flew down and snatched his dope, I could'nt breathe.

thought this was pretty funny. trailers were great. id love to see downey jr. do more comedy-hybrids like this and kiss kiss bang bang.

I guess I'm in the minority on this one.
Just saw it today - and while I did laugh a few times, it never really engaged me at all.
Not the worse thing I've seen, I mean it did have a few genuinely funny moments -
but overall I walked away kinda lukewarm about it.

The movie was above average for me. It wasn't a non-stop laugh fest, but what was funny was really funny. Kudos for being completely different from every other dumb and loud comedy out there. A few things that bothered me

1) Robert Downy Jr.'s line delivery, I couldn't make out 60% of what he said. Missed more than a few jokes because of this.

2) They misspelled "Province" in "Quang Tri Province." Twice.

Can't believe you criticized Robert Downey Junior!

Eh, the only other film I've seen him in is Iron Man, and I liked him in that one. But I'm not a fan of the "machine gun speak" character quirk, especially in comedy. I can't appreciate the joke if I can't understand what's being said.

I had no idea this movie was so good, saw it the other day.. wow! some classic stuff there. If you get a chance get the double DVD, some amazing stuff on the bonus disc. Yes it was a stellar cast, but hands down Jack Black stole the show, sorry Downey Jr. fans...lol
