Remote follow focus for £150/$300

That looks really nice Peter. Can't wait to see some shots of the mounting system+servo setup and what the final price will be.

Cheers

Im not going to announce anything regarding the final price until I have everything working and costed up. I dont want to say one price and then change it.

I should have photos of the mount fairly soon, im finding it hard to get through to the guy thats designing it, but il get it as soon as I can.

Thanks,

Pete.

I don't think that's possible without moderator intervention. Let's cut Pete some slack while he gets the product finished. I'm sure he'll price it quite reasonably.

Well im going to produce as mass as my available tools and time will allow.

To cut machining costs I am investing in my own CNC to cut and engrave the cases.

Now *thats* a price commitment. But a CNC machine would be the most useful thing I own so its not a hard decision.

Hello,

I see what you've done building your home made remote follow focus. Pretty amazing... Where do you think I can buy a cheap one?

Thanks

Wow that is a commitment. From what I've seen so far though, you'll have trouble keeping those things in stock. Keep up the good work here hoarp! I'm looking forward to ordering myself one! Looking forward to a final release and price, but of course keep on updating as you are, this is a very interesting process.

Hi Aurian,

I dont regard this as home made anymore. yes, im building it myself at home, but its being CNC cut, and carefuly made for (fairly)mass production.

You can buy one off me when its ready :-)

Ive been cleaning out the HocusFactory today. Ive got a large garage, infact its larger than I thought, and its attached to the house. Ive cleaned out 20 years of shite from in there. I though tit was abit rude to stick a shiny CNC machine in with all that mess....

I'd have to agree with Pete on this one... as far as I've heard, the only place I know of that you can buy a "cheap one" of this quality is from him. Plus, with all the features he's added to it since his original wired design, it's more than well worth what he'll charge for it I'm sure.

P.S. Pete, with all the attention this thread is getting, I hope you're ready to get these things into some sort of a fairly large scale production some how, because I have a feeling that as soon as the first review comes out after you release this, it's gonna take off huge.

Best of luck,

Patrick

Well the CNC machine will definatly make production faster. I can cut the cases myself rather than wait three weeks for the machine shop. I can also use it to do the serial numbers etc etc. Plus I can use it to develop other products.

Hocus Focus Motion Control anyone!? (thats HoCoMoCo)
