Create Space - Fullfillment Service for your DVD project?

I've used it. I followed the online submission process, then sent in my DVD master. CreateSpace uses that to make DVDs and sells them for you online. You get a link to place on your website or on e-mails. People can buy your DVDs from CreateSpace. You set the price. My DVD is $19.95

They also put the DVD on Amazon.com

It doesn't cost you anything to put up your DVD on CreateSpace and Amazon.com

However, you have to still promote your DVD. I haven't done it and they haven't sold any for me yet. It's been at least a couple of months.

So you get your DVDs out but as far as selling them, you still have to market them. There are millions of DVDs online....

Hey,

Nice looking DVD. How did you go about getting a picture/image of the DVD case? I am wondering how hard it would be more me. Do you get a UPC code? Also how difficult is it to create the artwork for your DVD. I would have to do that and don't have Photoshop. Are the templates easy enough to use?

I've been using them and I'm looking to get away from them. They don't pay when they are supposed to, and they do underhanded things. For instance I just setup a 3 disc set that I purposefully set to NOT be sold on Amazon. I look today and it's been setup to be sold on Amazon and there are sales. Also if you disable selling your title on Amazon they leave the page up and put a message that your title is no longer being manufactured. That seems like it would be illegal to me. No longer available on Amazon is not the same as no longer being manufactured which sends a message to customers that they can't get your title anywhere! I could go on and on about them but I'm blogging about it instead. :) I'm just going to work some overtime and pay for stock and use filmbaby or something. My DVDs are selling and I'm not even getting paid on time through Createspace.

I had the same problem using BookSurge which was bought out by Amazon and is kinda merged with Createspace. I bailed on that and I use Lightning Source for my publishing company. I get paid on time and get offset on demand printing with shipping and fulfillment for pennies.

It took a couple of months for my movie to start selling but now it's doing ok. I'm getting paid monthly and I'm at least seeing some income from my movie and books on Amazon. I'm sticking with CreateSpace and Amazon.

Wow, second thread on Createspace. I use them all the time. Mine is there too, simply search "Wages of Sin". It's done okay. I find people will download versus buying a DVD. The only problem with them is they don't do DVD-9 when I know they have the ability. I've been trying to wait for Kunaki to go Mac but they keep promising and not doing. They won't even respond to me about it anymore.

As for the books I love the way my books are looking. Slap one of those down and watch your friends get excited. I've gotten five sales this month, four for "Action Filmmaking" and one for "The Action Filmmaking Workbook". Not super sales but nice. I'll be doing another books this year and have a host of fiction and text books planned plus some graphic novels so I love the place for books, they're decent for DVD.

The best thing to do is save up the $1500 and go to Discmakers. I plan to do some promo DVDs if not complete packages with them later this year. I want to sale DVD 9s but I'm fine with Createspace's two disc sets for now. I also plan to get distribution this year too so none of that may be an issue for me.
