Hey,

Shot a feature in July 2007 and released it in May 2008. I haven't had any luck with film festivals. Are people having a similar experience? I am just wondering what others are doing?

I'd like to shoot something else in July 2010.

Chris

What was your feature about?

There are too many festivals. It's like a form of releasing movies -- without getting paid for them :-)

Movie distribution is changing. I think showing clips on the Internet is all we have now.

Making money in the movie business is much hardner these days.

Your question is a very good one. I wish there were people who could answer it.

I'd like to hear any answers even if I don't agree with them.

Did you make any money on your last movie? If you did, why not shoot another one next year?

When you say "Released it" can you specify what that means exactly? And what was your Distribution Strategy when your started? With that as a peramiter what worked and what didn`t, and why do think that is so?

Hey,

Thanks for showing some interest. You can learn more about my film here: http://www.alifemovie.com

But in short it is a Christian film about a young girl who struggles with her faith when she realizes her mother is dying from a rare form of cancer. It is a faith-based movie, family orientated and PG rated.

We released it on May 1st of this year. We had a limited run here in Sault Ste Marie, Ontario and it did very well. We have not had much luck with film festivals. It does not surprise me as many of them would find our theme troublesome. I think we will move to an independent DVD release. It is a good story with a good message. We shot this on the Panasonic DVX100.

If you have any ideas for me feel free to drop me a line at: chris@alifemovie.com

Hey Cris don`t give up!

Your film sounds great and very relevent since everyone sooner or later is confronted with the awareness of their own and their loved ones mortality and the spiritual crisis that usually ensues.

I am sure there is a home out there for this film. Think outside the box and you will solve it.

Hey,

Yeah this is a great movie with a great message. Thanks for the encouragement. I agree there is a home for it somewhere.
