Kino Flo 80 and 20 questions

Mainly I just want to know if these offer the possibility of detaching one tube and using it alone. I'd love to see a picture of it if anyone remembers one that's on-line.

The four lamp bank kinos that I use wire their tubes up in pairs. Its abit like christmas tree bulbs. If you toggle between four and two tubes then the two sets turn on and off. If you take one tube out, the other tube in the pair wont light.

Found this out the hardway when the soundman inquisitivly tapped the end of one of the tubes and it shattered, blowing silica powder in his face. The other tube in the pair wouldnt light, so we had to use that lamp as a two tube for the whole day...

So you are talking about a 20? I guess you didn't try to take them off the fixture though, did you? It doesn't look like that light has that feature. I have used Kinos before that allowed for this, also I've seen it done on countless shows where I wasn't lighting, but I am worried that it might only be the "lightweight" versions that do this... and neither of these are that type of kino, they are more of the hard fixture older type.
