Moldy sandwich...still good to eat?

You could have thrown away the moldy piece of bread, than folded the other piece of bread over to make the top layer, and eaten it like that.

This idea would have been stellar; however, the mold was on both pieces of bread on the same end of the sandwich...

I lived through eating the invisible mold, but it was really a sad situation, could have made a short film about it.

I must have spent 5 minutes making that sandwich this morning. I am sure I had a smile or at least a smirk on my face during that. I rinsed the lettuce, a nice piece of swiss cheese, three slices of oven roasted turkey, hellmans. Man that friggin sandwich was the ****, but then pennecillum had to get involved and screw everything up! And to make it worse I am tired, I was just going to go home sit on the couch and watch "Layer Cake" and now I gotta go get some more friggin bread for 3 days worth of lunch!

The day is ruined! This is the WORST day EVER!

But you get to watch Layer Cake! I'm jealous! I'd eat a moldy sandwich to watch Layer Cake tonight.

Man I know how you feel. My favorite trick is to make pack an ultra-tasty lunch and forget in on my stairs in the morning. Then I spend my day thinking about how that great lunch is spoiling all day. Mold can be good or bad, but you just don't know. Some molds can produce mycotoxins--and those can make you pretty damn sick. You made the hard choice, but the right one.

I had a life-affirming bowl of pho for lunch at Pho Hiep Hoa. That was one kickass bowl of pho.

lyons - you mentioned that you smelt mold after eating the sandwich. This means that you inhaled mold spores. This is NOT GOOD!!! Those spores are now racing around inside you (like bad pasta). The good news is that the spores are most likely dead by now. The bad news is, the spores were female and they gave birth to millions more spores!!!! Say goodbye to your loved ones. By morning your body will be eaten alive and unrecognizable to anyone.

Goodbye dear friend.

Can I have your camera?

my problem was never moldy food, it was always bad milk......I always make the coffe and then put the disgusting curdled milk in my coffe and take that first gulp......and I wanna throw up the rest of the week

Here's a li'l song from someone who knows just how you feel - Brak.

UPDATE

Lyons, this doesn't look good. The spores are spreading at an enormous rate!!!

Jarred, we could have an Outbreak on our hands. These spores could be transmitted to other DVXusers. Anyone who visited this thread is at risk! We should lock this thread down and destroy Lyons, .....I mean, ....ugh... I'll PM you.

I heard some mold can live in your body for years before you feel any effect. But then... wham! You never know what hit you. Kinda like that fist of death thing.

sorry! found this one by accident today trying to locate another older post and just had to resurrect it. but please, feel free to add your comments. obviously i survived the sandwich.

yeah, it prob wouldn't hurt you just to eat it. You have any idea what humans ate for like most of our history before refrigeration?

I wouldn't touch a sandwich older than a year.

Hmmm.... I try to remember how old the EggSalad Sandwich out of that machine over the heater on the highway filling station toilett was?

Probably less than a year, cause it was still soft and jucy.

I've been laid up for two days after what I think was a bad tuna salad sandwich. It'd been literally since my childhood that I've had a tuna sandwich. I piled on the butter pickles, relish, mayo and mustard. In a pita or some flatbread of questionable expiration.

Next time I see this guy... let's just say that it won't be good for him.

This thread is awesome, I can remember reading it when I was a lurker.

I can honestly say I've never had a Tuna sandwich before, and I love seafood.

This thread reminds me of the times I used to talk about what I was having for lunch... Chilli Fries and such....
