Girl + Beach = Portraits

These are from a set of portraits I took with a friend of mine down in Newport Beach. I am trying to gain some more experience shooting portraits so that means... free photoshot with friends.

Taken with an Olympus OM-G with a 70-150 f3.8 lens. The film was Kodak Portra 160VC.

Feedback = Awesome :)

I don't know..something is off with these pictures maybe its how you scanned these in but the detials of the photos aren't looking right.

The first photo looks like there is some optical vignetting which is a little distracting. Try not to shoot wide open (I think deeper depth of field wouldn't hurt anyway)

Did you use a CTOed strobe?
Anyway, your friend is too warm compared to the background IMHO.
Looks like an overcast day in the BG. The sea and sky have this greyish blue.
And then there is your friend suddenly hit from a orange "ray of sunlight"...
And yeah, the face could use half a step/one step less.
Composision wise all good, keep up the good work!

Thanks everyone for the feedback.

I thought she looked warm too, I'll have to keep that in mind for next time. There wasn't any strobes used she is just facing the sun. I took these right at sunset since that was the only time besides high noon that she could meet up with me.

I'm going to try and adjust the face in photoshop and see if I can make her look less like an orange.

Once again thanks guys for being honest, that's why I come here :)
