Ditto Mr. Santucci. Just rent what you need... $ 30-50 bucks tops....

The coollights softbox is the one option for $200

Another $400 option is the Chimera Birdcage I have.

I recommend the ImageWest brand

2 lights + softboxes + stands + bulbs
2,000 watts of light

$300

Great bang for the buck. I have used my pair on 3 productions... have not failed me yet, still in good shape.

You could also just get a flo fixture from coollights.

They are soft sources, no heat, and can lamp daylight and tungsten.
